The East Kootenay Invasive Plant Council (EKIPC) is a registered non-profit Society consisting of a wide range of representatives from various sectors, including:

  • Local, Regional, Provincial and Federal Governments
  • First Nations
  • Non Government Organizations
  • Industry
  • Private landowners/occupiers

The intent of the Society is to reduce and minimize the negative environmental, social and economic impacts caused by the introduction, establishment and spread of invasive alien plant species in the East Kootenay region.

The EKIPC objective is to coordinate an integrated invasive plant management program on all lands in the East Kootenay region, through the development of partnerships and support of all stakeholders.

By applying for membership, you agree to uphold the Constitution and you endorse the intent and objective of the EKIPC and thereby agree to uphold and espouse them. Members agree to participate in the EKIPC, in whatever capacity they are able, and help build and contribute constructively to a cooperative, regional invasive plant management program in the East Kootenay.  Members are likewise expected to encourage other potential parties and individuals to work towards successful implementation of this program over time.

Membership is free but will be forfeited on failing to attend 3 consecutive annual meetings.

Nothing in this Application for Membership obligates signatories to contribute financially to the EKIPC.
